Mel + Todd | Married in Shingle Springs, CA

Mel and Todd met in college, and there ended up being three Todds in the class they had together. To tell them all apart and since his last name was Norris, he became Todd Chuck Norris and it stuck even after the class was over. So once they were engaged, she became the future Mrs. Chuck Norris, which became their wedding email and was the first thing that made me fall in love with these two. They’re laid back, funny, and they surround themselves with some super rad people. I first met them for lunch in Berkeley and they brought their sweet pup Rocky, who reflected their laid back personalities as he spent the entire time lounging underneath the table. After getting to know them better I was even more excited to capture their day, I knew it would be focused on celebrating the two of them and just having a ton of fun with the people they love. On their wedding day, excitement was running high leading up to their first look, and I couldn’t wait for these two to see each other. Todd’s jaw dropped when he turned around, and Mel kept admiring how handsome he looked. After a few minutes, she mentioned that she hadn’t even realized she’d been shaking before then, but it had completely stopped once they were together. That’s a true sign of finding your favorite person, the one who makes you feel calm and so much happier when they’re around. I absolutely loved capturing them together in those private moments, they laugh together constantly and it’s so obvious how much fun they have together. We met up with their wedding party who couldn’t wait to love on them and share in the excitement of the day, and then they were married by one of their dear friends, who had a huge smile on her face the entire ceremony. What I loved so much about their wedding is how their friends and family could barely contain their joy or excitement either; everyone was so incredibly stoked about these two and their marriage. It’s so great knowing that they’re surrounded by so much love and support. Mel and Todd, I’m so thankful to have captured your big day! You two both have such big hearts and you’re such a blast together, here’s to many many years of new adventures together 🙂
